Lead Driver Manager Position Summary This position is for EPES Transport, LLC, a division of Penske Logistics, based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Lead Driver Manager plays a critical role in driver retention and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for training and counseling drivers, onboarding new drivers, and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards. The role focuses on optimizing driver performance, utilization, and compliance through effective communication and leadership. This Position is located in Rockwall, TX Shift: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm Key Responsibilities: u2022 Lead and manage 5u20137 non-driver associates to ensure team productivity and alignment with company goals. u2022 Facilitate coaching and compliance processes including SmartDrive, CCR, HOS violation coaching, and driver/leader interactions. u2022 Ensure completion of all assigned trainings and initiatives by direct reports (Driver Managers) and indirect reports (Drivers). u2022 Review and correct weekly driver earnings reports to ensure accuracy. u2022 Coordinate with Load Planning and Customer Service to route drivers for coaching and counseling. u2022 Support Penskeu2019s Quality System objectives through active participation and leadership. u2022 Maintain Observation Priority List (OPL) for assigned GC fleet(s) to improve operational performance. u2022 Other projects as assigned Qualifications: u2022 High School Diploma or GED required u2022 Associateu2019s or Bacheloru2019s degree in Transportation, Logistics, or related field preferred u2022 Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in transportation or logistics required u2022 Intermediate computer proficiency required u2022 Must have strong communication skills (phone and in-person) u2022 Must be able to collaborate in both team & cross functional environments u2022 Ability to transition quickly between tasks required u2022 Knowledge of transportation operations, safety compliance, and driver management systems required u2022 Must have strong problem solving & decision making skills u2022 Must understand & recognize operational efficiencies u2022 Experience with cost reduction through fuel compliance, idle time management, and cruise control usage preferred u2022 Ability to coach and counsel drivers for performance improvement required u2022 Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job u2022 Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with defined performance metrics u2022 Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening are required.
