Property Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team in New Rochelle, New York. This role is integral to maintaining financial accuracy and transparency within property management operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting processes, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering timely and precise financial insights. Responsibilities: u2022 Handle daily accounting tasks for assigned properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger updates. u2022 Prepare comprehensive financial reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow analyses. u2022 Collaborate with property managers to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. u2022 Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements. u2022 Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for property accounts. u2022 Reconcile tenant accounts, including rent payments, deposits, and expense reimbursements. u2022 Assist in audit preparation by compiling required documentation and addressing inquiries. u2022 Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or a related field. u2022 Proficiency in Yardi software or similar property management systems. u2022 Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and accrual accounting. u2022 Expertise in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts. u2022 Ability to prepare and interpret detailed financial reports. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 Solid understanding of accounting regulations and compliance standards. u2022 Effective communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
