Training Department 973 - Robotic Welding Instructor - 2nd ShiftQP Training (D973) is currently looking for an organized, self-motivated Robotic Welding Instructor for the Training School. This position will report to the Supervisor of the Weld School and play an integral role in the training and qualification of Robotic welding students.The Instructor will be part of a team, responsible for the training of students in specific courses related to general safety, Robotic welding, as well as additional Robotic welding related requirements. Qualified candidates will have a strong sense of commitment to Safety and Procedure Compliance, be a self-starter and possess strong verbal & written communication skills. Candidates must also possess the ability to multi-task with a friendly, approachable customer service demeanor.Responsibilities & Duties - The responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:Instructing robotic programs, Technical Manuals, procedures and drawings.Directing and assessing hands on training with practice and testsTraining Cad/Cam,Instructing the various Robotic welding machines used and their potential hazards.Instruct the requirements of a final visual examination of Robotic welded joints.Assessing student performance & identifying nonconformance to policies, procedures and technical documentsMeeting with HR Business Partners regarding student performance as neededConsistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topicsCommunicate with other Training shifts to advance work and communicate issuesSupporting special training projects as requiredSupport the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assignedWork Schedule - The selected candidate will be expected to work the following work schedule:General shift hours Approximately 2nd Shift hours (3:00pm - 11:30pm with flexibility to adjust hours as necessary to support business needAbility to work additional overtime as directed (including weekends)The individual must be flexible to support short term training assignments on all shifts as neededRequired:High school diploma or equivalent3 years Welding experience in GMAW or SMAW or welding training/qualifications or equivalent experience (fabrication/fitting/CAD/CAM, CNC etc.)Mechanically and computer inclined and capable of interpreting robotic programs, technical manuals, procedures and drawingsAvailable to work all shifts / modified work weekBasic mathematicskillsPreferred:Structural or Pipe RT Hand welding experienceCAD/CAM trainingElectric Boat ApprenticeRobotic system trainingMechanized or Track welding, UT / RT welding experienceExperience in computer programming or automationSkilled in the use of computers, specifically in a PC, Windows-based operating environmentTechnical knowledge of Robotic System OperationKnowledge of the EB operating practices of fabrication and manufacturingShip fitting / Ship building experienceBasic understanding of the NDT acceptance criteria for structural componentsExperienced in lifting and handlingSkillsHave a strong ability to prioritize and complete multiple complex tasks and projectsHave a strong ability to lead and direct in a classroom environmentHave excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skillsHave experience with Microsoft Office SuiteBe comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentHave a strong commitment to teaching others and leading student classesHave a demonstrated commitment to customer-service, safety & procedure complianceHave a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities and duties as neededClimbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, TwistingAcids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Outside, Wet
