The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.Position SummaryReporting to the Director of Research Administration at the College of Dental Medicine (CDM), the Senior Grants Manager will be responsible for financial and administrative management of assigned grants, clinical trials and other sponsored research projects throughout the award life-cycle, from pre-award to close-out. Manage departmental research projects.ResponsibilitiesPre-Award Management- Oversee preparation and submission of proposals for sponsored projects.- Provide Principal Investigators (PIs) with guidance and administrative support during submission.- Partner with Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) and other central offices to ensure submissions are accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with Sponsor, University, and CDM policies.- Initiate and coordinate contract and budget negotiations for private grants and clinical trials.- Prepare budgets, cost/benefit analyses (profit/loss), and evaluate business risks of proposed submissions.Post-Award Management- Set up awards, budgets, and payroll allocations; prepare and update quarterly/annual budget forecasts.- Prepare and review financial reports with PIs; ensure timely billing and monitor revenue receipts.- Prepare quarterly grant attestations and financial forecasts for PIs.- Submit requests to sponsors (e.g., re-budgeting, no-cost extensions).- Resolve contractual or compliance issues as they arise.- Provide guidance on purchasing policies, create requisitions, and analyze/monitor expenses.- Oversee financial reconciliation and assist with close-out, including submission of final reports.- Act as Primary Effort Coordinator; assist Principal Investigators with annual Effort Reporting.- Assist with all ARC and HR transactions related to sponsored research as needed- Perform other administrative and financial duties as needed.Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education plus at least four years of experience.Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least four years of relevant financial, administrative and sponsored projects management experience in an academic medical center or higher education required.- Must have strong computer skills with an emphasis on developing complex spreadsheets.- Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal organization, problem solving and detail-oriented skill required.- Master's degree in business administration, healthcare administration or public administration is desirable.
