Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) is a new, state-of-the-art facility that opened in May 2024—an expansive, 100,000+ square foot space nearly twice the size of our original Tinton Falls location. This milestone marks the continuation of over 40 years of dedicated service to our community. Equipped with advanced diagnostics like MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and a PET scanner, the hospital features 52 exam rooms, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated emergency department, and expanded training spaces. Thoughtful amenities—including feline-only waiting areas, a rehab unit, comfort rooms, and a serene zen garden—reflect our commitment to exceptional care for pets and their families.We are seeking an ER Inpatient Technician who is personable, self-motivated, and strong communicators with excellent organizational skills. In this role, you will assist with a variety of daily tasks while collaborating closely with all departments across the hospital.Position Overview: The ER Inpatient Technicians primary responsibility is to provide care for the hospitalized patients that are deemed stable according to the veterinarians evaluation and RBVHs defined levels of hospitalization. This individual will assess patients and facilitate treatments under the direction of the supervising veterinarian. They will have excellent communication with the supervising veterinarian and address concerns with the patients as they arise. The ER Inpatient Technician is expected to work with all doctors, technicians, and assistants to perform diagnostics and execute treatment plans for the hospitalized pensation:Full Time Credentialed Technicians: $27- $31/hr. based on experienceNon-Credentialed Technicians: $22- $25/hr. based on experienceThe final compensation offer will be based on the qualified candidates experience and ability to make an impact coming into the role.Key Responsibilities:Patient Care & Nursing SkillsBasic husbandry and care for domestic and exotic patientsMonitor patient status: vitals, mentation, pain scoreNursing procedures: phlebotomy, IVC/IVF therapy, cystocentesis, urinary catheter care, medication administration (oral, topical, injectable), restraint, in- and out-patient care, abdominocentesis/thoracocentesis/pericardiocentesis, oxygen cage operation, transfusion therapy, PICC line care, recumbent patient care, feeding and sampling line careTriage, sedation/anesthesia monitoring, recognize CPA & initiate CPRMedical KnowledgeDisease processes and disinfection protocolsBasic anatomy, physiology, pharmacology (Cubex use, common medications)Medical math, lab skills (basic bloodwork, lab submissions), radiograph positioning, medical terminologyTechnical & Administrative SkillsRecord keeping, equipment operation, stocking and cleaning, aftercareKnowledge and adherence to hospital policiesProfessionalismCommunication skills, appropriate uniforms, professional appearanceQualificationsMinimum Requirements:Three years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary hospital is required. One Year + of experience working as an ER inpatient technicianFluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
