Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Napa, California. This role involves overseeing key accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting, as well as contributing to harvest accounting operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate precision, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset while working independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities: Trial Balance Prep & Analysis o Monthly Account Reconciliation o Report Variances/Issues o Ensure Accuracy and compliance with accounting standards u2022 Transaction Entry u2022 Monthly Journal Entries u2022 Drive monthly close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting u2022 Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, client invoicing, journal entries, and reconciliations. u2022 Play a key role in harvest accounting operations, including data proofing, equipment tracking, and custom hauling documentation. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations and address any necessary follow-up actions. u2022 Assist with chemical inventory reconciliations, including annual physical counts and related adjustments. u2022 Collaborate with the Controller on general ledger reconciliations, overhead allocations, and month-end/year-end close processes. u2022 Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and risk mitigation. u2022 Provide weekly follow-up on receivables and contribute to cash flow tracking. u2022 Complete various accounting and financial projects as assigned by the Controller. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in a detail-oriented role; advanced certifications are a plus. u2022 Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of agricultural production and winery-related finance. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level and familiarity with coding. u2022 Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. u2022 Experience with implementing accounting software systems is preferred. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently or collaboratively. u2022 Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information clearly. u2022 Commitment to following instructions and asking clarifying questions when needed.
