To support this expansion, the company is hiring a newly created Assistant Controller to strengthen its accounting team and play a key role in financial operations, reporting, and system transformation. The Assistant Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activities, financial reporting, cost accounting, and compliance. This role is also central to a major ERP system upgrade and will collaborate across departments to improve processes and drive financial insight. For additional information and confidential consideration, please contact Kevin Sweet directly at 682-499-1182 or via email at Responsibilities + Lead daily accounting functions: journal entries (including payroll-related), reconciliations, accruals, and account analysis + Manage timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes + Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes + Prepare and review financial statements, budget variance reports, and cash flow statements + Oversee cost accounting for manufacturing and supply chain processes + Monitor raw material costing, BOM validations, freight/logistics costs, and inventory analysis + Collaborate with operations to analyze trends, identify variances, and improve efficiency + Support the development of decision-support tools for cross-functional teams + Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP, and tax regulations + Support audit processes and proactively improve internal controls Why This Opportunity Stands Out + Established & Respected: 40+ years in business with strong leadership and market presence + Growth-Driven: Significant investment in people, systems, and operational expansion + High Impact: Play a visible role in financial strategy, reporting, and systems transformation + Career Path: Ideal for a Senior Accountant ready for the next step, or an Assistant Controller seeking broader ownership Requirements Requirements: u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. u2022 At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, supply chain or logistics environment. u2022 Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management. u2022 Experience in managing accounts payable and receivable operations. u2022 Proficiency in month-end and year-end closing procedures. u2022 Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze financial reports and budgets. u2022 Familiarity with system implementation and integration processes. u2022 Certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred but not required.
