Join us at Grey Matters Defense Solutions, where your work has purpose, and your contributions fuel the future of national security.Grey Matters Defense Solutions is seeking a talented and dedicated DevOps EngineerAbout the job:The DevOps Engineer plans and evolves processes and infrastructure to execute programs which support rapid maturation and deployment of capability while sustaining a stable security posture and configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Integrates development pipelines leveraging automation with test-driven development tools. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development.The DevOps Engineer designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. Functions with agile principles to execute efficiently in an environment of continuous feedback. Ensures implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use. May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Applying configuration management methodologies to systemsSupporting Development Teams throughout software development lifecycleDesigns, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming or scripting languages to improve software developmentDrive innovation through discovery and implementation of processes for continuous improvement.Ensures implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated and manual testing on executable codeCollaborating with software teams using Agile MethodologyCatalyze development teams in adoption of DevOps practices especially using automation.Utilize Jira to document bugs and enhancementsEnhancing and sustaining maintainability, security and control of system software.About you:DevOps Engineer: Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Masters degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.Principal DevOps Engineer: Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Masters degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a termediate Linux OS experienceIntermediate Python, Perl or shell scriptingAbility to work multiple tasks concurrentlyComfortable working with software toolsAbility and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needsApplicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application and is required to start.Preferred QualificationsSource control tool experienceC++ experienceSoftware development and troubleshooting in a team environmentLegacy software and modernization effort experienceAgile development experienceFull software development lifecycle experienceExperience with any of the following: Atlassian Tool Suite, Jenkins, Git, Conan, or Cmake.What We Offer• Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits• Flexible work environment• Meaningful work in support of the warfighter and national security• A collaborative and mission-driven team cultureJoin our team of exceptional developers, architects, and data scientists!All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Salary Range: $105,000 - 170,000 + additional 25% SEP (Employer Contribution Retirement)Grey Matters Defense Solutions offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability.
