Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:The Disability Management Manager has the responsibility of collaborating with the claims teams toreview claims and to formulate recommendations for a return-to-work planfor Workers’ Compensation claimants. Assesses industry standard disability guidelines forexpected disability duration, and formulates a return-to-work plan, identifying possible resources and working directly with our insureds to help facilitate modified and full duty RTW. The role requires excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to successfully communicate with our insureds by explaining the benefits of alternative positions and will assist the employer in finding suitable positions.Partners with the AmTrust Claims team to expedite a timely and safe return to pre-injury employment. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.Creates and delivers training and resources to adjusters and nurses on Early Return-to-Work StrategiesObjectively and critically assesses all information related to the IE’s current functional status to create the appropriate Return to Work (RTW) plan of actionUses clinical/nursing/ergonomic skills to identify obstacles and formulate creative strategies for an effective and timely return to workCommunicates proactively and effectively with insureds, claims adjusters, providers, employers and other parties as needed toexpedite a safe return to workSubject matter expert on return-to-work strategies and disability management tools and resources (ODG, job descriptions, state forms and requirements)Collaborate with external vendors, defense counsel and claims partners on strategies to mitigate exposure and assist with claims resolution.Keeps current with market trends and demands.Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.Active unrestricted Adjustor, RN, Engineering, OT or PT, or other clinical license in a state or territory of the UnitedStates with eligibility to get and/or renew a multistate license.5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include 5+ years of Workers’ Compensation case management or Workers' Compensation claim adjusting required.Ability to travel as required for in-person claims office engagementEducation & LicensingBachelor's degree required.BSN or other allied health or engineering professional degree from accredited college or university (OT/PT) or business degree with equivalent work experience preferred.Certification in case management, rehabilitation nursing, ergonomics or a related specialty is highly preferred.Acquisition and maintenance of Insurance License(s) may be required to comply with state requirements.Skills & KnowledgeKnowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations, behavioral health, case management practice, ergonomics, ODG, pain management process, drug rehabilitation, state workers compensation guidelines and periods of disabilityAbility to interact collaboratively and work effectively with a multi-functional team and throughout the organization; fosters an environment of shared responsibility and accountabilityExcellent oral and written communication, including presentation skillsStrong organizational, communication and analytical skillsDemonstrate strong time management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environmentProficiency in all Microsoft Office products including Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePointExcellent negotiation skillsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to meet or exceed Performance Competencies#LI-GH1#LI-HYBRID#AmTrustAmTrust Financial Services offers a competitive compensation package and excellent career advancement opportunities.
