THIS WILL BE FOR JOURNEYMEN LINEMEN FOR TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION.A Journeyman lineman at Irby Construction Company will be expected to build, maintain, and repair overhead transmission and distribution using approved standards under direction of the Crew Foreman. Responsible for safe operation of equipment and operations on digger trucks (line trucks) and bucket trucks in order to construct and maintain electrical systems of de-energized overhead transmission lines and energized distribution lines.Has worked in the line industry as an apprentice lineman for at least 4 yearsMust be able to conduct a Job Task Safety Analysis (JTSA) as requiredAble to string, sag, clip, and dead-end conductorSetting up an Equipotential WorkzoneAbility to ascend and descend poles of all types to change out crossarms, transformers and repair conductors, etc., as well as maintains current knowledge of equipment, and OSHA regulationsAbility to lead crew during on call rotationAbility to interpret maps, specifications, staking sheets, and complex diagrams.Ability to maintain records required for time worked and materialsThorough knowledge of first-aid, safety rules, line materials and tools and their useGood judgment, safe work methods, and ability to work well with diverse groups of peopleMust perform Pole Top Rescue and Bucket RescueAssist in training Apprentice LinemanAbility to lead in Crew Forman’s absenceInspects, maintains company equipment, and trucks in safe working orderMust be able to work outside during all weather conditions and terrain on a regular and/on-call basis, in a safe and productive mannerMust have a class A or B Commercial Driver’s LicenseHigh School Diploma or equivalentMay move up to 50 pounds in a safe mannerMust be able to work at heights and/or confined spaceMust be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays on an on-call basisPaid Vacation Paid HolidaysMedical Dental Vision 401KAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
