As a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Avenue of the Arts Costa Mesa is an eclectic, music-inspired luxury hotel located in the heart of Orange County. Elevating the guest experience, the hotel is across from the Segerstrom Center for the Arts and only 2.5 miles from SNA Airport. WORK REQUIREMENTS The Senior Sales Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Sales to achieve the hotelu2019s revenue and market share goals. Responsible for maximizing Room, F&B and room rental revenue, working closely with catering to convert business. Strategically sell and book groups and banquets through establishing new accounts and nurturing existing ones. u00b7 Comprehensive knowledge of market position, sales strategies, yield management, pricing and rate structures, booking trends, marketing and support tools that contribute to the achievement of goals. u00b7 Must be focused on the achievement of 100% of the sales goals that are derived from the Annual Sales Budgets. u00b7 Fully knowledgeable of the competitive set and implements strategies to maintain a number one position. u00b7 Follows hotels marketing plan and proactively develops action plans when shortfalls are recognized by using SMART guidelines. u00b7 Maintains relationships and actively participates in meeting with hotels operational teams to effectively communicate what is needed for a successful sales process and execution of contracts. u00b7 Partners with Catering Managers to ensure seamless communication, detailing, and execution of banquets. Involving catering and banquet staff to site visits as needed. u00b7 Ensures the effective management of all client relationships including innovative ideas and strategies to continue to grow share in market share for group. u00b7 Fully understands hotel group contracts and maintains accountability for the commitments set forth in the contract including the financial arrangements in an agreement. u00b7 Actively participates regular new business development activities by using tools such as Knowland, Business Journals and Internet. u00b7 Accountable for the achievement of individual revenue goals for group rooms and banquet goals. u00b7 Pre-plans all client site visits to provide a unique, WOW experience that shows the hotels investment in making each event a success. u00b7 Recommend and develop supporting marketing promotions and collateral. u00b7 Fully implement all brand initiatives and use of brand resources by participating in trade shows, developing and maintaining relationships with brand sales representatives to ensure representatives of hotels services globally. u00b7 Maintain partnerships with key third party representatives u00b7 Manages travel and entertainment expenses including reporting on the return on investment. u00b7 Actively participates and represents the hotel at local, brand and industry tradeshows and meetings. Must be available to travel domestically. u00b7 Completes all required training and has complete knowledge of brand, health and safety compliance and full product knowledge. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: u00b7 Minimum of 3 years in a Sales role in a 200+room property with at least 10,000 sq. ft of meeting space required. u00b7 AAA 4 Diamond Experience preferred. u00b7 Brand experience preferred u00b7 Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence prospects and hotel guests. u00b7 Advanced knowledge of the sales and hospitality principles and practices. u00b7 Must be available weekends and weeknights as needed. u00b7 Sales-oriented writing techniques and strategies for correspondence, i.e. letters, reports, proposals, and contracts. u00b7 Appropriate and accurate grammar and punctuation in written communication. u00b7 Ability to maximize impact, maintains interest, and establishes a rapport with your audience when conveying information. u00b7 Ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage time and resources. u00b7 Understanding the positioning of the hotel, services provided, and how the hotel can meet the needs of clients. u00b7 Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook and Office, Cvent, and CITY. u00b7 English is a must; other languages are a plus. u00b7 Must be able to sit for long periods of time. u00b7 Must be able to walk, bend and stoop throughout day. u00b7 Frequently use hands for keyboard and arms to reach. u00b7 Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. u00b7 Must have a valid Driveru2019s License.
