The director will run the rhythm of the business for GSC (ELT reviews, BoD updates, annual planning), drive portfolio management and enterprise communications, and serve as the operational glue across GSC sub-unitsu2014Sourcing, Manufacturing, Food Safety & Quality, Planning, and Distribution. This lean team reports to the VP of Product & Biz Ops and partners closely with the Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) to align priorities, accelerate decision-making, deliver change, and improve business performance. As a director of Product, Strategy & Business Operations u2014 Global Supply Chain , you willu2026 Lead the Rhythm of the Business (RoB) & Enterprise Connectivity u2022 Own GSCu2019s RoB: ELT updates, Board of Directors materials, quarterly business reviews, annual/long-range planning, and enterprise initiative tracking. u2022 Coordinate inputs across Sourcing, Manufacturing, FSQ, Planning, and Distribution; ensure one cohesive narrative with clear decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes. u2022 Prepare executive-ready visioning documents, strategy briefs, and business cases; tell the story with clarity, data, and implications. Strategy, Portfolio & Operating Model u2022 Facilitate GSC strategy development (strategic planning process, OKRs, multi-year roadmaps, investment theses); translate strategy into prioritized portfolios. u2022 Establish and run portfolio governance: intake, prioritization, dependency/risk management, and benefits realization; ensure alignment to enterprise goals. u2022 Provide key inputs to short- and long-term operating plans; partner with Finance on budgets, investment scenarios, and ROI tracking. Change Leadership, Business Readiness & Communications u2022 Lead program deployment, including business readiness, change management, partner training, and communications. u2022 Educate client groups and teams on policy/process changes; ensure adoption plans are clear and measurable. u2022 Serve as business and program advocate: articulate benefits, define deliverables/timelines, and secure needed support from functional leaders. Cross-Functional u201cGlueu201d & Issue Resolution u2022 Operate as the single point of contact for business unitu2013wide initiatives; direct program plan development and manage resource allocation across GSC and partner teams. u2022 Identify risks and issues impacting implementation; drive resolution paths and escalation routines; maintain accountability on scope, schedule, and budget. u2022 Integrate smoothly with existing PMO/project management in functional areas; clarify roles and responsibilities to eliminate duplication and gaps. Business Operations, Budget & Team Leadership u2022 Develop and manage budgets, work plans, and staffing plans (as applicable); run team recognition and retention initiatives that support program goals. u2022 Build, coach, and inspire a high-performing, lean BizOps team; create a culture of ownership, curiosity, and bias for action. u2022 Drive continuous improvement in processes, operating mechanisms, and metrics to increase speed, transparency, and accountability. Decision Support & Market Insight u2022 Drive, influence, and inform key business decisions by synthesizing industry trends, risk factors, and competitive developments that impact Starbucksu2019 supply chain. u2022 Provide clear insight-to-action storytellingu2014link metrics to outcomes and decisions; maintain dashboards and mechanisms that track progress vs. OKRs. Experience, Skills and Knowledge u2022 Multidisciplinary Business Acumen: Ability to apply knowledge of strategy, finance, operations, technology, and organizational design to drive outcomes in cross-functional initiatives. u2022 Program & Portfolio Leadership: Proven success leading enterprise portfolios; strong governance, dependency and risk management, benefits realization, and stakeholder alignment. u2022 Change Management & Communications: Demonstrated ability to prepare, communicate, and educate diverse audiences on policy/practice changes; compelling storytelling at the executive level. u2022 Operational Excellence: Track record of delivering programs on time, within scope and budget; establishes clear ownership, operating mechanisms, and performance routines. u2022 Influence in Matrixed Environments: Builds trusted partnerships across Sourcing, Manufacturing, Food Safety & Quality, Planning, Distribution, Finance, Legal, Technology, and regional teams. u2022 Analytical & Strategic: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; comfortable with scenario planning, trade-off analysis, and KPI design (e.g., service, cost, quality, risk). u2022 Leadership & Team Building: Experience hiring, developing, and coaching talent; creates an inclusive environment that retains and recognizes high performers. u2022 Mindset: Customer-focused, practical, and creative problem-solver; thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous contexts with a consistent bias for execution. Weu2019d love to hear from people with: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree or equivalent experience required; Masteru2019s/MBA preferred. u2022 10+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, PMO/portfolio leadership, or management consulting, preferably in Retail/QSR/CPG or complex global supply chains. u2022 5+ years leading teams with responsibility for cross-functional program delivery, executive communications, and change management. u2022 Demonstrated success operating as a single-threaded leader for enterprise-scale initiatives and partnering with senior executives, including CSCO/ELT stakeholders. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
