A kind and active family in Palo Alto, CA is seeking an experienced and proactive full-time live-out career nanny/family assistant to care for their two children ages 3 and 6. The children are in school Monday through Thursday 9am-3pm and Fridays 8am-12pm. The ideal start date is asap. The general schedule is:Mondays 11am-7pm (ideally Monday is a split shift with the candidate coming in the morning for a couple of hours but the family is open to discussing this)Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12 pm-7pmThursdays 12-730 pmFridays 12-6pmFamily will guarantee 40 hours per week. Occasional evening coverage, with notice, is appreciated if the nanny is open to additional hours. Travel is optional but would include Tahoe in the summer and Hawaii in the winter. This is a warm and respectful household looking for someone who can transition to more household responsibilities as the children get older. A long-term relationship is important to them, and they value collaboration and mutual support.The position is mostly family assistant with some childcare needed. Most of the childcare revolves around driving the children in provided family care, and planning and attending activities, classes, and play-dateswith the children. Additional responsibilities include:Helping with homeworkPurchasing and restocking children's itemsManaging children's calendar including scheduling appointments for the childrenCooking for the childrenChildren's laundryLight housekeeping, mostly related to the children's areas and common spaces in the homeFamily assistant responsibilities, which are secondary/as time allows:Family laundryMeal preparation and cooking for the family including grocery shoppingPlanning child-related events like birthday partiesScheduling vendors and service personnelVehicle maintenance and upkeepVery proactive personality, someone who is a self-starter and operates independently (does not need a lot of guidance/hand holding as both parents have busy careers) Team player with great communicationBilingual in English and a second language would be nice to have but not requiredNice to have: willing to travelBachelor's degreeComfortable with a parent working from homeTech savvy: using email, Google calendar, online ordering, etc.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
