Sign-on bonus: Up to $1,500.00Department: FitnessSchedule: Rotating, including weekend shiftsWork Location: 7191 Cahaba Valley RoadBenefits for eligible positions only include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and moreGuard the safety of pool users and respond to emergencies.Inspect aquatic areas regularly and report all maintenance concerns and incidents of worn equipment.Explain pool rules and ensure the safety of those using the aquatic area by remaining vigilant and be ready to respond to emergency situations. Enforce policies; educate participants about aquatic safety policies for all aquatic areas.Assist the instruction of swim lessons or exercise classes as training allows. Report all incidents and injuries per department regulations.Conduct chemical tests and maintain accurate water test records and attendance records in accordance with health department regulations.Licensure / Certification / Registration:BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted.One OR more of the following required:Certification specializing in Lifeguard obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Instructor specializing in Lifeguard obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Education:High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.No additional preferences.UAB St. Vincent’s, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
