Offering an unmatched, 360-degree solution set for a collection of world-class owned venues and a client roster that includes the most influential, highest attended arenas, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions on the planet.The Learn To Skate Coach is responsible for teaching Learn-to-Skate classes, creating a safe and effective learning experience for skaters of all ages. The ICI Learn to Skate program is part of the Learn to Skate USA National program and follows its guidelines.This role will pay an hourly rate of $11.00-$15.00For Part-Time roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.EVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.BodyArmor Ice Rink is a community ice rink, offering a variety of skating classes and camps, and is additionally the home of the Hawkeye Skating Club, ICH Youth Hockey, University of Iowa Men’s and Women’s Club Hockey teams and the practice facility for the ECHL Iowa Heartlanders. The related facility, Xtream Arena and Greenstate Family Fieldhouse is home to the University of Iowa Women’s Volleyball team and the ECHL Iowa Heartlanders. The venues are owned by the community development corporation ArenaCo and managed by OVG.Responsible for always promoting and representing the Facility positively.Provide instruction in accordance with Learn to Skate USA Guidelines.Encourage students to practice the skills they are learning outside of classMay have to lift small children who can't stand up on their ownActively recruit and promote our program and specialty classes to potential new skatersHave a welcoming and encouraging attitude with the skaters and parentsWork with other coaches and coordinator to better our classes and programsAccurately and thoroughly evaluate students and at the end of the session - completing report cards and certificatesAttend coaches’ meetings and/or trainingsEnforce on and off-ice rulesMust meet Learn to Skate or USFS Coaching Compliance standards.Must maintain Safe Sport Compliance.Knowledge of USA Figure Skating By-Laws and Policies.Previous coaching experience is a plus but not required.Ability to respond appropriately to customer service issues.Positive attitude with willingness to learn.Great at working in a team environmentAt OVG, we understand that to continue positively disrupting the sports and live entertainment industry, we need a diverse team to help us do it.
