Responsibilities Provides professional patient care and transportation in accordance with all departmental and St. Joseph Health System operating policies, city and state laws, and applicable contracts. Essential Key Job Responsibilities + Personal, crew, patient and bystander's safety: scene size up, emergency scenes are dynamic events; the paramedic should always look out first for their safety and then the safety of others. + Patient Assessment and delivery of care: provides patient care functions according to protocol, procedure and written directives to level of certification. Performs a patient assessment throughout a call on every patient encountered, providing appropriate treatment and transportation decisions within the P2 scope of practice. 1. 2. Synchronized cardioversion 3. Medication administration of: Ancef, Dopamine, Etomidate, Fentanyl, Heparin, Labetalol, Metoprolol, Levophed, Phenergan, Rocuronium, Versed. 4. MICU transports 5. Rapid Sequence Induction (RSI) 6. External Jugular vein access 7. Surgical cricothyrotomyMaintains and improves skill level and knowledge base: attends/participates in 75% of annual departmental training and completion of annual Skills Competency Fair. + Lifting and moving patients: ensure proper lifting, moving patients safely and effectively. Assist with movement of patients to and from stretcher and wheelchair. + Transport and Transfer of Care: verifies patient identification prior to transport, contacts receiving facility prior to delivery along with providing a patient care report, also providing safe delivery to or from the hospital and aircraft. Transfer the patient to the appropriate facility and health care provider giving complete/accurate verbal patient care report.
