Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in Tonawanda, New York. In this role, you will focus on managing commercial accounts and maintaining client relationships, ensuring timely and effective resolution of outstanding balances. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for skill development and growth in the financial services industry. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee a portfolio of 400-550 commercial accounts, ensuring timely and efficient collection efforts. u2022 Communicate directly with clients via written and verbal updates regarding the status of accounts. u2022 Conduct skip tracing to locate customers and resolve outstanding claims as needed. u2022 Refer accounts to legal counsel when necessary, following company protocols. u2022 Participate actively in monthly department meetings, sharing insights and updates. u2022 Contribute to office projects, contests, and other team-building activities. u2022 Engage in ongoing training programs, seminars, and online courses to enhance skills and expertise. u2022 Collaborate with team leaders and management to identify and implement process improvements. u2022 Foster and develop strong working relationships with clients to ensure long-term partnerships. u2022 Provide guidance and motivation to team members, setting a high standard through leadership. Requirements u2022 Previous experience in business-to-business (B2B) collections or a related field. u2022 Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interaction. u2022 Proficiency in skip tracing techniques and familiarity with legal processes for collections. u2022 Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. u2022 Experience participating in and contributing to team meetings and collaborative projects. u2022 Commitment to ongoing development through training and educational programs. u2022 Proven ability to build and sustain positive client relationships. u2022 Leadership skills to inspire and guide team members toward achieving departmental goals.
