You will make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers.This position provides opportunities at other pharmacies across Cleveland Clinic, ability to receive national certification through the Pharmacy Technician school at CCF and offers the chance to develop skills in building relationships and fostering independence.A caregiver in this role works rotating day/evening shifts from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in a six week rotation with occasional Saturday shifts.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:A high school diploma or GEDUpon hire, you must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA)Upon hire, it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician TraineeCaregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within six monthsCan perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compoundsPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Six months of hospital experienceCompletion of a formal pharmacy technician training programOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
