About the positionThis program prepares our older youth for independent living as they transition to adulthood. We are looking for experienced adult staff that can help our youth between the ages of 17 and 18 while they learn the skills they need to transition into independent living.Mentoring is a important and large part of the daily responsibilities of this position.This position is a home monitor to assist our older youth with daily life responsibilities such as; assistance around the home, homework questions, meal prep, occasional transporting youth to work, appointments, and other events. Duties and Responsibilities Establish a family-like environment in the residence that includes modeling supporting behaviors and expectationsAssist youth with participating in daily schedule and routine, including but not limited to meal preparation, medication administration, developing independent skills, and preparing and organizing activitiesProvide transportation for youth to appointments according to outlined safety rulesMonitor overnight activity at the homeJob Qualifications Education, Training, and Licensure/CertificationHigh school diploma or equivalency preferredAbility to learn de-escalation techniques and become CPR and first aid certifiedExperience Direct care experience in a mental health field or working with vulnerable adults preferredAdditional Work Requirements Valid unrestricted driver's license with good driving record, proof of current registration and automobile insurance required; reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served required#childwelfare #socialwork #residential#youthworker#youthsupport#fostercare#afternoonshift#jacksonmijobs#youthcasesupport
