Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing vendor inquiries, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an organized and efficient accounts payable process while collaborating with various departments. Responsibilities: u2022 Respond to vendor inquiries and direct them to the appropriate department personnel when necessary. u2022 Scan and accurately input invoices into the accounting system for proper record-keeping. u2022 Prepare accounts payable checks by processing check requests, obtaining payment approvals, and generating checks using financial systems. u2022 Handle product invoice processing using a three-way match system, resolving discrepancies with department staff. u2022 Generate and maintain accurate accounts payable reports and organize all related files. u2022 Support monthly financial closings by maintaining accounts payable logs and ensuring timely entries. u2022 Assist with year-end financial audits by providing required documentation and support. u2022 Ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. u2022 Perform additional duties as assigned to support the accounts payable and finance teams. Requirements u2022 Proficiency in account coding and working with accounting software systems. u2022 Familiarity with ERP systems and their role in financial processes. u2022 Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and practices. u2022 Knowledge of auditing processes and procedures, including year-end audits. u2022 Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payment processing. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. u2022 Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with vendors and internal teams.
