Systems Engineer Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Local The Opportunity: CACI is seeking a highly qualified Systems Engineer who will serve as an Advisor on our team in Livermore, CA. You will be supporting our intelligence customer, NGA, on our User Facing and Data Center Services (UDS) program. Responsibilities: u2022 Performs systems design, development, and integration in a Windows and Unix environment. u2022 Performs continual maintenance and provides highly complex solutions for security, backup and redundancy problems. u2022 Provide engineering support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client server and network devices. u2022 Provide engineering support for the systems administrator for systems issues that have been escalated and communicate status to agency management u2022 Isolate, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination therefore u2022 Responsible for infrastructure including design, installing, configuring, testing and maintaining integrity of operating systems and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance u2022 Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems. u2022 Assist with achieving optimum performance and availability standards through implementing appropriate technical solutions. u2022 Attend meetings weekly and provide status reports. u2022 Resolve a wide range of system issues, troubleshooting software, hardware, diagnosis of network issues, and addressing escalated trouble tickets and service tasks. u2022 Attend Authorized Outage, Firewall Change Request, and Root Cause Analysis Boards as required u2022 Create and follow procedures to maintain and manage multiple linked databases including security, data safety and integrity, disaster recovery, and bulk data import/exports. u2022 Conduct routine and emergency maintenance of assigned data center equipment u2022 Communicate/coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance windows with potentially impacted customers u2022 Collaborate and contribute to the development, engineering and testing of backup and recovery plans u2022 Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation u2022 Ensure systems are secure to STIG guidelines by utilizing tools such as Retina and HBSS u2022 Maintain operational, configuration, and other standard operating procedures (SOPs). u2022 Verify system availability with existing Enterprise tools u2022 Create and modify scripts in multiple disciplines on Windows, Linux, and Solaris Systems u2022 Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution Qualifications: Required- u2022 Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience. u2022 Must have Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire u2022 TS/SCI Clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly u2022 Experience with UNIX, Windows, and/or Storage u2022 Experience working with trouble reporting and tracking systems such as Serviceu2022Ability to respond to after hour calls u201cprovide on-call support
