Description DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain Facilities u00b7 Oversee maintenance schedule for all facilities o Transitional and Emergency Housingu2013 maintenance and turnarounds o Good Samaritan Center o Prepare and maintain currently unoccupied spaces for preparation for use. o Housing Office and Youth Center o Apartment/Corps Officersu2019 Quarters o Maintenance and Storage buildings / closets o Trash and Recycling o Coordinate janitorial and maintenance contractors as agreed to by Corps Officer o Ensure that all storage areas, closets, containers, rooms and buildings are clean, neat and organized u00b7 Monitor expenses related to property upkeep and repairs u00b7 Administer facility components of TSA Injury and Illness Prevention Plan u00b7 Ensure that all maintenance and landscaping tools and equipment are in good, safe condition u00b7 Maintenance work authorized by: o Emailed Work Orders from employees (including self) o Corps Officer approvals (many items have standing approval) o All Work Orders completed in a timely manner Maintain Grounds u00b7 Oversee contracted landscaping services so that grounds are always in good condition: mowed, fertilized, edged, and watered, etc. o Remove all garbage, leaves, sand, etc. from street lawns, curbs, gutters and playgrounds The Salvation Army Monterey Peninsula Corps Administration o Ensure that all sprinkler systems are functioning well and oversee repairs Maintain Vehicles u00b7 Ensure that all Corps vehicles are operational and in good condition. u00b7 Oversee maintenance, repairs, advise Corps Officer of more serious deficiencies. u00b7 Ensure that the mobile canteen is operational, fully stocked and ready to go at all times u00b7 Ensure that the maintenance van is clean and at least u00be fueled at all times Supervise Other Maintenance staff u00b7 This is a hands-on position. It is expected that the Facilities manager will be actively working day to day on the facilities along with other maintenance staff. u00b7 Must guide and direct facility staff. Effectively deploy volunteers u00b7 Volunteers are critical to the success of The Salvation Army u00b7 Oversee and encourage volunteers u00b7 Quickly determine which tasks volunteers are suited for by asking and observation. u00b7 Always maintain volunteer safety according to policy Safety Policy u00b7 Adhere to Salvation Army Safety Policy: o Attend all meetings of the Safety Committee o Conduct safety inspections as required by policy Additional Duties u00b7 Ensure that room set ups and breakdowns are completed for all meetings u00b7 Ensure that Chapel is prepared for Sunday Services u00b7 Assist in holiday kettle and toy drive u00b7 Coordinate special projects as directed by the Corps Officer u00b7 Perform deliveries and pickups using Salvation Army vehicles as needed u00b7 Ensure that American and The Salvation Army flags are flown, weather permitting u00b7 Other related duties as required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: u00b7 Experience in physical facilities maintenance management, including the monitoring of contracts and warranties with Business Administrator u00b7 Experience in supervising maintenance staff u00b7 Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, water, landscape, irrigation systems u00b7 CA driver's license (Required) u00b7 Working knowledge of utilizing and directing vendors/sub-contractors u00b7 Can request and analyze bids for projects and property repairs u00b7 Current First Aid/ CPR/ AED certification SKILLS AND ABILITIES: u00b7 Strong leadership ability to direct and organize staff u00b7 Able to work and relate well with people u00b7 Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving u00b7 Able to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision u00b7 Maintain confidentiality of clients and staff u00b7 Able to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and vendors u00b7 Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: u00b7 Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
