Job Description

Description The Good Samaritan Center was developed in order to provide Social Service programming to the community. The focus of these services is to meet basic needs and to assist low-income, at-risk, and homeless families and individuals. The Caseworker is responsible for administering the programs and services of the Good Samaritan Center through case management services, resources, and referrals. This position also includes the regular maintenance of client records and program databases. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:u2022 Complies with TSA policies and procedures for the implementation of Good Samaritan Center programsu2022 Provides case management services to homeless and low-income individuals and families who seek support such as rental assistance, utility assistance, food boxes, and other basic needsu2022 Provides general information and referral services to clientsu2022 Conduct client intake interviewsu2022 Maintains all program and client case files, ensuring that all program documentation, referrals, and case management notes are kept up to dateu2022 Maintains and inputs required data into the Social Service and HMIS databasesu2022 Ensures the confidentiality of all casework documents, files, and sensitive client information in accordance with the law and TSA policyu2022 Enforces program policies and disciplinary process, including proper disciplinary notation and/or suspension of services with the approval of the Directoru2022 Reports all safety incidents to leadership and maintains appropriate records, ensuring the safety of program staff and clientsu2022 Assists with the collection, recording, and reporting of program statistics on a monthly basis.u2022 Maintains and cultivates effective relationships with local agencies, organizations, and community resources, keeping the public aware of Salvation Army programsu2022 Attends community Social Service agency meetings as needed and stays up to date with available community servicesu2022 Provides follow-up services for clients to ensure long-term effectiveness in meeting needsu2022 Assist with coverage of front desk duties as neededu2022 Connects clients to additional Social Service and Corps programs as appropriateu2022 Assist with holiday programming, distribution, and community eventsu2022 Provides transportation to clients in TSA vehicles as neededu2022 Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officeru2022 Other related duties as required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:u2022 Possess an A.A. or B.A. in Social Work or have experience in Social Service programsu2022 Knowledge of Social Service agencies and service providers within the communityu2022 Able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skillsSKILLS AND ABILITIES:u2022 Bilingual in Spanish (Required)u2022 Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)u2022 Strong organizational and problem-solving skillsu2022 Able to de-escalate crisis/emergency situationsu2022 Very organized, self-motivated, dependable and detail-orientedu2022 Able to maintain client confidentialityu2022 Able to maintain accurate client documentation and recordsu2022 Able to work with a diverse group of individualsu2022 Able to multi-task and manage time well PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:u2022 Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
