Immediate opening for two Associate Research Scientist positions with Marco Giometto at The Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science, Department of Civil Engineering & Engineering Mechanics. The successful candidates will conduct leading-edge research on fundamental and applied problems in environmental fluid mechanics and turbulence, with a specific focus on atmospheric boundary layer processes and turbulence. Responsibilities: Lead atmospheric boundary layer processes and turbulence research Help identify opportunities and lead the preparation of proposals Closely interact with funding agencies and project partners to deliver on projects Develop computational fluid dynamics and geospatial analysis software Co-supervise undergraduate and graduate students PhD in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent.At least 2 years of experience as a postdoctoral researcher in atmospheric boundary layer processes or fluid dynamics.Strong computational fluid dynamics model development experience, proven publication record in the field of atmospheric boundary layer processes and turbulence.Columbia University is an Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / VeteranPay Transparency DisclosureThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
