MSNBC is looking for a motivated Senior Producer who is looking to thrive in a breaking news situations and grow their careers by flexing multiple production skills regularly. We are expanding our breaking news team to cover the network when important stories unfold and develop in overnight hours. On nights when there is no breaking news coverage, this team will produce taped packages for Morning Joe. The team will also produce best of highlight shows from our primetime lineup for weekend playback and help our linear programs and the MSNBC brand grow in the digital space.u00a0 In this role, you'll be working as a Senior Producer for an overnight team that oversees breaking news for the network, while also contributing to original content produced for Morning Joe and taped hours put together using content from various MSNBC shows. Key Responsibilities: + Overseeing line producer and production team for breaking news coverage during hours that MSNBC is in tape + Driving editorial content during breaking news coverage + Working under deadline pressure to vet material for air, including video, graphics and information for anchors + Helping to manage control room during breaking news including making assignments for production staff clear + Working with segment producers in creation of live segments + Contributing to oversight of original news packages for Morning Joe + Aiding in assembling taped hours compiled from existing MSNBC shows + Delivering taped shows to master control + Assisting social media team in monitoring and creating social media content + Filling in for Executive Producer as needed + Bacheloru2019s degree or equivalent experience + Must have at least 7 years of experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc.) + Must have at least 3 years of control room experienceu00a0 Desired Qualifications: + Control Room experience is a must, line-producing experience preferred + Experience managing a team of producers andu00a0leading editorial discussions + Experience editing scripts for time, accuracy and for more effective storytelling + Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television + Strong writing and teasing skills. + Knowledge of current events, politics and pop culture + Strong time management skills Additional Job Requirements: + Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV throughu00a0be considered. + Must be willing to work in New York, NY. + Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. + Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
