The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Undertaking design and planning activities on maritime projects - container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal resiliency, and development schemes. + Undertaking design and planning activities on vertical building structural projects u2013 aviation facilities, transit stations, freight rail facilities, and ancillary buildings related to roadway projects. + Preparing structural design utilizing hand calculations, Excel workbooks, and advanced structural analysis software to determine applied loading, demand requirements, and appropriate foundation and member specifications. + Preparing structural technical sketches, drawings, specifications and reports under the supervision of senior staff. + Exercising judgment in developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. + Coordinating with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed. + Performing condition assessments and site visits as needed. Occasional short to medium term site visits may also become necessary depending on project requirements. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: + Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Preferred Qualifications: + Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. + Master of Science (with Structural Engineering concentration). + Experience with computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, STAAD.Pro, and SAFE. + Experience with Revit and AutoCAD. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. The selected candidate must be available to work in New York, NY on a scheduled basis. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
