We are looking for a SoftwareEngineering Industry Coach to join our team and support students ontheir educational journey. This individual will provide high-qualitycoaching to Chegg Skills students by acting as a coach and thoughtpartner while fostering confidence as they approach the end of theirprogram and prepare to apply their skills in the professional world. Inthis role, you will serve as a trusted coach, helping students apply newskills with confidence to their current or future role. Throughpersonalized coaching, you will provide industry insights, guidance onworkplace dynamics, and strategies for effectively integrating theirlearning into real-world scenarios. By fostering a supportive andencouraging environment, you will help students build self-assurance,refine their professional presence, and adapt to evolving industryexpectations. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate aboutbuilding relationships and helping students succeed. Your role will beinstrumental in providing thoughtful feedback, facilitating discussionsthat deepen industry knowledge, and ensuring students feel empowered toadvance in their careers with clarity and confidence. Responsibilities Conduct one-on-one online video sessions with students to discusscareer goals, challenges, and strategies for success in tech-focusedroles. Act as a sounding board for students, fostering a supportiverelationship that motivates students to pursue their goals withconfidence. Coach students on professional skills, includingcommunication, networking, problem-solving, adaptability, andprofessional etiquette. Share industry insights and real-worldexamples to enhance student application of skills. Provide actionablefeedback on student readiness and areas for improvement. Documentsession content to ensure consistent support across teams. Leave astudent-first and empathetic impression with all learners.Qualifications Minimum of 4 years' professional experience Proficiency with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery) Node.JS and React.JS at an industry level; full MERN stackproficiency a plus Familiar with developer tools and workflows suchas Git, GitHub, Visual Studio, and AI prompt engineering Priorexperience in mentorship, coaching, or professional development Strong ability to connect with students and provide clear, actionableguidance. Excellent interpersonal skills, including a developed senseof empathy and understanding Demonstrated ability to motivate andsupport individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Familiarity with hiring trends, industry demands, and essentialcompetencies in tech-heavy fields. Adaptable to a fast-paced workenvironment.
