Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Fresno, California, within the agriculture industry. This role requires an individual with strong attention to detail and expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting practices. The position offers long-term stability and growth opportunities while supporting essential financial operations and occasional HR tasks. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and resolving discrepancies. u2022 Oversee accounts payable activities, such as verifying and coding bills, scheduling payments, and handling federal AP-related tasks. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end close procedures and financial reporting. u2022 Utilize accounting systems, including Famous, to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations. u2022 Provide occasional HR support by processing paperwork, managing benefits forms, and maintaining employee files. u2022 Collaborate with team members, including the AP and Grower Accountant, to streamline operations and provide management support. u2022 Handle daily invoice volumes ranging from 25u201330 during normal periods and up to 70 during peak seasons. u2022 Support compliance with government contracts and ensure accurate documentation. u2022 Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including corporate tax returns and sales tax. u2022 Maintain confidentiality and reliability while performing all assigned tasks. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a similar accounting role. u2022 Strong understanding of accounting principles, including month-end close and bank reconciliations. u2022 Proficiency in journal entries and general ledger maintenance. u2022 Ability to handle a high volume of invoices during peak periods with accuracy. u2022 Familiarity with accounting software and systems; experience with Famous is a plus. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required. u2022 Capable of maintaining confidentiality and working independently while taking direction.
