Industrial Mechanicposition is located in New Paltz, NY.Ready to become a Viking?MedicalDentalVisionCompany sponsored Health Savings Account (HSA)401k with matchPaid Vacation and Sick TimeLife InsuranceLong Term Disability InsurancePet InsuranceSemiannual profit sharingTraining Programs with the Council of IndustryGrowth from within the companyWage Description: $22 to $32 an hour depending on experience.JOB DUTIES:Adhere to all safety policies and proceduresProvide resolution to mechanical and electrical problems Repair defective equipment such as A/C-D/C drives Perform routine electrical and mechanical preventative maintenanceRebuild complex gear trainsRun machines for testing, repair and to coach operators on proper operation of machinesDocument all maintenance activities accurately and maintain recordsEnsure the work environment remains uncluttered, clean, and well-maintained to ensure safetyAssist in the procurement of spare parts and inventory management Help ensure that all company standards and customer commitments are metSKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:Safety consciousAbility to operate machinery to inspect, troubleshoot, evaluate performance, calibrate, repair, and perform preventative maintenance Knowledge of mechanicals, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, power transmission and pumpsExperience organizing, planning, and prioritizing workConsistent decision making and problem solving that may require creative out of the box thinkingSense of urgency and accountabilityStrong written and verbal communication skillsPositive attitudeSelf-motivated, able to follow through with assignments to completionRequired to operate a forklift and scissor liftWilling to work overtime and some weekends Must lift up to 50 poundsRegularly required to stand, sit, walk, carry equipment/parts, talk, hear, kneel, climb, crouch, stoop, and crawl.Regular use of hands to feel, handle, reach, and operate various toolsKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:High School diploma or equivalent is requiredTwo-year technical degree and/or appropriate work experienceBasic working knowledge of mechanics, electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulicsExceptional work ethicsExcellent communication and organizational skillsFlexibility / willingness to operate and work on multiple types of machineryAbility to read and understand electrical schematics, mechanical prints, and parts manualsProficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelExperience in Corrugated manufacturing or flexographic printing a plusIndustries has specialized in the manufacturing of corrugated packaging and providing logistical solutions to its clients, for the past 52 years.
