Job Title: Assistant Store Manager - Building MaterialsLocation: Arlington, TNReports To: Store ManagerJob Type: Full TimeJob Summary:We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations in our building materials retail location. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a background in construction or building supplies, and a passion for customer service. You will assist in managing staff, optimizing inventory, ensuring safety compliance, and driving sales performance.Key Responsibilities: Operational Support: Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations. Ensure the store is clean, organized and well-stocked. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely restocking. Customer Service: Provide expert advice and support to customers regarding building materials and products. Resolve customer complaints and ensure a high level of satisfaction. Train staff on product knowledge and customer service best practices. Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate store associates. Assist in scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. Foster a positive and productive work environment. Sales & Merchandising: Support sales initiatives and promotions to meet revenue targets. Ensure proper merchandising and product displays. Analyze sales data and suggest improvements. Safety & Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations in accordance with company and legal standards. Conduct regular safety checks and training sessions.Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred) 2+ years of experience in retail management, preferably in the building materials or Hardware industry. Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and supplies. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Proficiency in POS systems and inventory management software. Ability to lift heavy items and work in a physically demanding environment.Preferred Skills: Bilingual Forklift certification Experience with ERP systemsWorking Conditions: Fast paced retail environment Physical work including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
