Job Description

Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Assistant Site Supervisor - ELOP is responsible for assisting the Site Supervisor with the overall program management, participant supervision, program planning, and implementation of academic enrichment activities. The Assistant Site Supervisor will help manage safe, accurate, and efficient participant sign in/out procedures, and provide coaching and support for Youth Leader staff members. The Assistant Site Supervisor position requires high energy, dedication, patience, good communication skills, and a strong desire to mentor youth, strengthen families, and serve the community.For more on Employee Perks, click on this link: Employee Benefits | YMCA of San Diego County (ymcasd.org) Schedule:Monday through Friday 1pm-6pmAssist in the planning, management, and implementation of program activities in accordance with the goals and policies of the ELOP/DASH grant, school district, collaborative partners, and the YMCA of San Diego CountySupervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all timesProvide positive behavior guidance that supports the developmental, social-emotional, and physical needs of all studentsServe as lead staff of the DASH Program in the absence of the Site SupervisorActively recruit students and market expanded learning activities to ensure program capacityCollaborate with school and district personnel to align high quality academic activities and to develop and maintain positive relationshipsAssist with the on-site management of attendance data and procedures, program documents, student files, and other administrative duties as assignedPerform daily duties that ensure space is properly maintained, organized, clean, and safeVisual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situationPhysical ability to lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activitiesOther duties as assigned needs to be included to all rolesMust be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma/GEDOne year experience in child and youth development, education, or comparable setting requiredMust meet minimum qualifications for a highly qualified Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide in the district in which the assigned school operates; AA/AS degree, 48 college units or passing score on district’s Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide proficiency exam acceptableFingerprint clearance from DOJ/FBI required prior to working.TB test clearance within 60 days prior to employment or prior to working on a school siteCompletion of Child Abuse Prevention training prior to working with program participantsCPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:American Red CrossAmerican Heart AssociationAmerican Safety & Health InstituteYMCA will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the San Diego County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act. You do not need to disclose your criminal history or participate in a background check until a conditional job offer is made to you.
