The Truck Mechanic position requires the individual be safety minded. Truck Mechanic performs any and all tasks associated with repairing semi tractors, belly dump trailers and/or water trailers. Repairs to the trucks will be conducted in or at truck shop facility, or out in the field using provided service truck.This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, repair, maintain trucks and ensure any out of compliance issues are fixed in a timely mannerKeep work area clean and organizedProper communication with staff about repairs made or neededDocument repairs made and parts used in repair processQualifications/RequirementsThe requirements listed in the sections that follow are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform the duties of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions (primary duties) of the job.Education:High School Diploma or GED requiredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must have own toolsKnowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, equipment used in truck repairsKnowledge of mechanical, electrical, air, brake, suspension systems of truckCurrent CDL a plus, but not requiredClean MVRAbility to:Stand or walk for long periods of timeBend, stretch, twist, kneel, crouch, or crawlLift occasionally up to 75 lbsFill out all necessary daily paperwork and/or safety related documentsRecognize and respond to immediate safety concernsWorking Conditions: Outdoors in any and all weather conditions.Work Hours: 10-12 hour work days, 5 days a week, overtime, occasional Saturday if weather interrupts regular weekSafety Training: MSHAMTIis committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive work environment for all employees.
