Accounting Manager

Description Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Visalia, California. This position offers an opportunity to oversee critical accounting operations and play a key role in financial reporting and compliance within the construction and solar project sectors. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of accounting processes to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our financial systems. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage all accounting and finance operations, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, journal entries, account analysis, and financial statement reporting. u2022 Oversee general ledger activities, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, fixed asset depreciation, revenue recognition, and cost accounting specific to construction and solar projects. u2022 Drive improvements in financial reporting cycles and closing processes, while supporting the development of annual budgets and planning initiatives. u2022 Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and enhance accounting controls in collaboration with organizational leadership. u2022 Assist with tax compliance, board reporting, the implementation of accounting procedures, and the coordination of annual insurance renewals. u2022 Lead efforts to streamline accounting workflows and ensure accurate job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to maintain efficient use of accounting systems and tools, including Acumatica and Excel. u2022 Provide guidance on cost accounting practices and support project-based financial analysis to aid decision-making. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. u2022 At least 7 years of experience in an accounting manager or similar leadership role. u2022 Proficiency in construction accounting practices, including job costing, WIP tracking, and cost analysis. u2022 Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial statement audits. u2022 Expertise in accounting software systems, with preferred experience in Acumatica. u2022 Advanced skills in Excel and other Office applications. u2022 Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and accounting controls. u2022 Experience in the construction or solar industries is highly desirable.
