Sr. Project Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our client's team in Albany, New York. In this role, you will oversee financial management for multiple projects, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining smooth financial operations and supporting project teams to achieve their objectives. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage financial records for assigned projects, including contracts, invoices, and expense tracking. u2022 Prepare and monitor project budgets while ensuring accurate data entry into accounting systems. u2022 Review project costs regularly and apply appropriate revenue recognition methods. u2022 Generate and issue client invoices in line with contract agreements and follow up on outstanding balances. u2022 Collaborate with project managers and team leaders to align on budgets, financial reporting, and billing statuses. u2022 Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff and interns to foster growth and development. Requirements u2022 Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices. u2022 Proficiency in using Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint software. u2022 Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. u2022 Excellent communication abilities for interacting with clients and team members. u2022 Capability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. u2022 Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of financial management. u2022 Experience with month-end close, general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations. u2022 Familiarity with AIA billing processes and bank reconciliations.
