Applies in-depth knowledge of hydraulic engineering principles in the design and specification of systems such as penstocks, pressurized piping, surge tanks, and high-pressure pumping configurations. Demonstrates technical expertise in designing hydropower generator and pump system piping, including emergency drainage and reverse pressure pumping systems, in compliance with relevant codes and standards such as API, ASME B31.1, and ASME B31.3. Coordinates and manages hydro-mechanical project tasks from conceptual design through detailed engineering, procurement support, and installation oversight. Performs engineering design of mechanical equipment including pressurized vessels per ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and 2, atmospheric tanks per API 650, and centrifugal pumps following API, ISO, and ASME standards. Leads hydraulic and stress analysis of complex fluid systems using advanced engineering tools such as KYPipe, AFT Fathom, FluidFlow3, PIPE-FLO, and CAESARII to ensure performance, reliability, and safety under varying operational conditions. Conducts inspection and evaluation of penstock and water conveyance systems, including surge tanks, pressure relief valves, spherical valves, and butterfly valves, in accordance with ASME VIII, BS 5155, ASME B16.34, MSS SP67, and ISO 5752. Performs quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews on hydro-mechanical deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrates leadership in solving complex technical challenges related to hydraulic transients, system pressure fluctuations, and mechanical stress behavior. Maintains up-to-date technical knowledge of current and emerging technologies in hydraulic and mechanical systems for renewable and conventional energy infrastructure. Approves technical documentation, drawings, and specifications related to hydraulic and mechanical equipment. Develops engineering work plans, budgets, and schedules, and provides technical direction for hydro-mechanical aspects of projects. Mentors junior engineering staff, promoting technical development and knowledge transfer in hydraulic design and analysis practices. Develops and nurtures strong relationships with clients, contributing to proposal development and ongoing business development in the field of hydraulic and mechanical engineering. 20% domestic travel required to project and client sites.
