42800BR Requisition ID: 42800BR Business Unit: FSU Job Description: CDM Smith is looking for Inspectors to provide independent, professional construction inspection and oversight of Federal Construction Projects with agencies such as USACE, AFCEC, and NAVFAC. This is a pipeline requisition for future projects. The Construction Inspection Specialist documents inspection findings and communicates issues to project leadership. The role requires applying broad professional knowledge of construction practices to meet client needs, clearly communicating project progress and issues to diverse functional teams and project leadership, and ensuring projects are delivered successfully, safely, and in compliance with applicable requirements. Work is performed independently under limited supervision. Job Duties: u2022 Conducts on-site inspections of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects as well as related civil structures (roads, dams, bridges, facilities, utilities, etc.) to verify compliance with approved design specifications, industry standards, safety codes, and applicable federal regulations. u2022 Documents inspection results inclusive of deficiencies, deterioration, structural condition, deviations between design and execution of construction, required corrective actions and any needed sampling. u2022 Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and material certifications in coordination with engineers and project management teams. u2022 Monitors construction progress, prepares and maintains detailed daily reports, deficiency notices, project status reports, and technical recommendations. u2022 Inspects and verifies construction materials and testing processes (concrete breaks, compaction testing, welding/joint inspections, pressure testing, etc.) to ensure compliance with specifications and standards u2022 Oversees and coordinates field construction related services on projects, enforcing adherence to safety, environmental, quality control, and permitting requirements u2022 Conducts site investigations, reviews relevant data including maps, reports, test results, drawings and others as required. u2022 Participates in pre-construction meetings, design reviews, technical assessments, safety meetings, and project closeout/punch list activities. u2022 Ensures compliance with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc. and delivers technical files and other technical documentation as required. u2022 Develops, trains, and mentors junior construction professionals, provides technical direction, and serves as a liaison between contractors, engineering staff, and client. u2022 Performs other duties as required. #LI-LP2 Job Title: Construction Inspection Specialist (Flex Staff) Group: FSI ENT WFT Field Employment Type: Temporary Minimum Qualifications: u2022 High School Diploma u2022 At least 5 years of relevant construction experience. Domestic travel is required. Overseas travel is also possible. Pay Range Minimum: $27.30 Pay Range Maximum: $54.60 Additional Compensation: All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
