Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our Copper Crossing Value Stream (CXVS) facility in Salt Lake City, Utah . _Role description & Responsibilities:_ A Manufacturing Technician performs hands on activities/tasks associated with manufacturing of composite rocket cases. Tasks may include but are not limited to Tooling Assembly/Disassembly, Case Surface Preparation, winding composite equipment operation, maintaining cleanliness of the work area and facilities, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. These candidates must participate as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost and schedule of their team. This is a weekend, night shift position (12 hour shifts) . Overtime is worked as necessary. _Requirements:_ u2022 Must be willing to perform shift work and overtime, as required. This could include weekends and holidays. u2022 Must possess a valid state driveru2019s license u2022 Required to perform safe handling of hazardous waste materials for disposal. u2022 Possess ability to understand and apply stringent procedures to assigned duties. u2022 Safe handling of equipment and materials in a manufacturing environment u2022 Operating industrial equipment such as bridge cranes, forklifts, precision measuring instruments and hand tools. u2022 Ability to read blueprints. u2022 Able to monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control and design specifications. _Skills & Qualifications:_ u2022 Able to work a physically demanding day (stand for long periods; work from your knees; ascend and descend ladders; lift, bend, twist push and pull up to 50 lbs.) while wearing protective equipment (respirator, coveralls, gloves, eye and ear protection, etc.). u2022 Able to read, comprehend and follow established written instructions without deviation u2022 Perform basic math and measurement functions _Basic Qualifications:_ _This position can be filled at either a level 1 or level 2._ _Basic Qualifications for a Level 1:_ u2022 High School Diploma or GED u2022 0-1 years manufacturing experience. u2022 Ability to start and end helicals and hoops in carbon winding process, following planning requirements. u2022 Able to continuously monitor machinery to ensure winding is completed according to established planning and procedures. u2022 Ability to weigh material for mixing process. u2022 Ability to work with resins and carbon fiber. u2022 Ability to work with chemical cleaning process such as an industrial degreaser. u2022 Ability to work with aluminum oxide cloth. _Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:_ u2022 High School Diploma or GED u2022 2 years of related Composite or Mechanical work experience u2022 Ability to start and end helicals and hoops in carbon winding process, following planning requirements. u2022 Able to continuously monitor machinery to ensure winding is completed according to established planning and procedures. u2022 Ability to weigh material for mixing process. u2022 Ability to work with resins and carbon fiber. u2022 Ability to work with chemical cleaning process such as an industrial degreaser. u2022 Ability to work with aluminum oxide cloth. _Preferred Qualifications:_ u2022 Prefer Associates degree or Technical Certificate related to composite material. _Position Benefits:_ As a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman Space Systems, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including: u2022 Medical, Dental & Vision coverage u2022 401k u2022 Educational Assistance u2022 Life Insurance u2022 Employee Assistance Programs & Work/Life Solutions u2022 Paid Time Off u2022 Health & Wellness Resources u2022 Employee Discounts Primary Level Salary Range: $36,300.00 - $60,500.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $43,100.00 - $71,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
