Scroll down for the list of full benefits and additional information.Job The Year-Round Group Leader is responsible for providing a developmentally appropriate learning experience for the children in their care. Group leaders engage with children, plan and run activities, understand and follow licensing and sanitation standards, maintain an engaging and safe learning environment, and model appropriate behavior for children and junior staff. Minimum Qualifications: Principal ResponsibilitiesProvide constant/appropriate supervision of a group of 10-25 school age children, and take care of their welfare, health and safetyEngage in positive, developmentally appropriate interactions with children while setting appropriate boundaries, providing active listening, problem solving, and positive redirectionWrite curriculum that meets children's needs and interests through a Jewish lensFoster strong classroom community by helping children develop empathy and conflict resolution skillsMaintain the classroom space to provide safe and engaging learning opportunities that encourage children's participation and comply with licensing and sanitation requirementsEnsure compliance with all current NC and DCDEE guidelines within the classroom and outdoorsParticipate in JCC All Staff MeetingsAttend any required in-service trainings on an annual basisAll childcare staff are required to participate in professional development, ranging from 5-20 hours, depending on education level, as well as required trainings (BSAC, CPR/First Aid, RRSCM)Model appropriate behavior for children, junior staff, and new Group LeadersRespect for and implementation of JCC values and missionWillingness and ability to learn and teach through a Jewish lensRequired Skills/AbilitiesAbility to learn and maintain proper North Carolina childcare licensing and sanitation laws/regulationAbility to communicate clearly and professionally with children, parents, and peersAbility to plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities for children and incorporate Jewish values when possibleQualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or GEDExperienceExperience supervising children in a group setting, preferredExperience in Jewish studies, preferredCertificationsNC Qualifying Letter (required before start date)Required DocumentsTB Screening and/or Test (required before start date)Medical Report (required before start date)Physical RequirementsAbility to be actively moving for most of the dayWalk 1-mile round trip dailyOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
