Wheel Repair Technician - Jaguar Land Rover North Dade

The Wheel Repair Technician functions as a skilled technician using tools and techniques to restore wheels and wheel covers.Performs repair work as outlined related to wheel repair and restoration, including cosmetic damages (curb and road rash, peeling, scrapes, gouges, oxidation and bent wheels).Paints surfaces, inspect wheels, prep and buff defects, mix colors and finish.Mount and balance tires as needed.Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.Communicates with service advisor and customers immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.Keeps work area neat and clean.Maintains and is accountable for spray machine and all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.Reports any safety issues immediately to management.High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Minimum three years of related experience and/or training in alloy wheel repair.Valid driver license and clean driving record.Flexibility to work various hours and weekends.Ability to work in outdoor environments.Automotive Painting experience is a plus.
