PowerFlex Engineer

TEKsystems has a client that is seeking a IT professional with Dell PowerFlex experience for a 3-9 month engagement, which could go longer. This team primary responsibility will be to catch up on remediation and vulnerability testing. The client is working on a massive Data Center consolidation project - consolidation 9 existing data centers and migrating into 4 new data centers. u2022 Have a very good understanding of all PowerFlex Components and Operations u2022 Worked on different versions of PowerFlex OS 3x and 4x u2022 Working experience on 2- Layer and HCI offerings of PowerFlex u2022 Have a good understanding of all PowerFlex OS components such as MDM, SDS, SDC, SDR and SVM u2022 Able to explain different entities within a PowerFlex cluster u2013 Protection Domain, Storage Pool, Acceleration Pool, Snapshot, Devices, Volumes and Hosts u2022 Familiar with PowerFlex OS CLI or SCLI u2022 Able to manage PowerFlex systems using PowerFlex manager (PFxM) u2022 Able to navigate the PowerFlex Manager UI to perform different activities u2022 Have a complete understanding of the PowerFlex Management Platform (PFMP) u2022 Able to perform expansions of Storage Only, Compute Only and HCI resource groups u2022 Have a complete understanding of the purpose of a RCM u2022 Able to perform health assessments on a PowerFlex system and remediate deviations u2022 Know the complete workflow to perform a RCM upgrade u2022 Able to differentiate difference RCM versions and decide the upgrade path u2022 Troubleshoot PowerFlex upgrade failures and hardware failures u2022 Troubleshoot PowerFlex Management Platform errors u2022 Working experience with Cloudlink encryption and able to perform all day to day activities that are required to manage a Cloudlink setup u2022 Deploy PowerFlex Management Platform and SO, CO and HCI resource groups u2022 Clear understanding of how PowerFlex nodes should be cable to achieve full redundancy and connectivity u2022 Demonstrate good understanding of vCenter and its operations u2022 Familiar with managing ESXi hosts and VMs using vCenter u2022 Thorough understanding of virtual networking within vCenter u2022 Able to explain concepts of Standard switch, Distributed Virtual switches, portgroups, LACP and failover/Load balancing policies with respect to vSphere networking u2022 Experience using iDRAC for remote server management, hardware troubleshooting and Firmware upgrade u2022 Have experience building ESXi hosts and Linux servers using ISOs u2022 Understanding of Linux network configurations and config files u2022 Experience working with Dell support, collecting logs and collaborating with different teams to resolve issues related to PowerFlex Configure and deploy PowerFlex Appliance for customer environments Manage PowerFlex Manager and PowerFlex Gateway for optimal performance and security Conduct customer handoffs and ensure seamless transition to PowerFlex Troubleshoot and resolve common issues with PowerFlex Appliance and related systems Collaborate with customers to understand their network and router requirements Design and implement network architectures for PowerFlex deployments Develop and maintain knowledge of PowerFlex Appliance software and hardware components Stay up-to-date with the latest PowerFlex features and enhancements Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.
