Overview Job Summary Details: The School Custodian performs general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school, college or university campus environment. Preferred Qualifications: u2022 Prior customer service experience u2022 One (1) year of prior similar work experience. Responsibilities: u2022 Clean and maintain assigned area, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways u2022 Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas u2022 Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas u2022 Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures u2022 Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems u2022 Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc. u2022 Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles u2022 Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceiling, and walls u2022 Polish hard surfaces, e.g. woodwork, stainless steel surfaces u2022 Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas u2022 Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks u2022 Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees u2022 Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks u2022 Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms (clean and polish as needed) u2022 Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
