Learn about us here is seeking a Travel Coordinator to perform highly complex (senior-level) accounting work within the Accounts Payable section of Finance. Serves as one of the agencyand#8217;s primary point of contact for travel-related business activities, supporting internal divisions with high volumes of domestic and international travel logistics. The Travel Coordinator regularly interacts with employees across all levels of the agency to provide guidance and resolve travel-related inquiries. Responsibilities include coordination of travel arrangements and advances, as applicable, and processing travel using travel management software and ensuring compliance with applicable policies. The role operates in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment that encourages initiative, process improvement, and independent problem-solving. May have direct communication with ERS Board members and Executive Leadership. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, with considerable latitude for independent judgment.Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Communicates current ERS and State of Texas travel rules to agency travelers and ensures the ERS travel website remains up to date.Supports agency travelers with a high volume of complex and international travel arrangements.Utilizes the ERS Travel system, Concur, and CAPPS FinancialsActs as a Program Administrator for Concur and works with support teams on updates and maintenance.Provides periodic training to agency travelers and division travel coordinators.Prepares travel advance vouchers and purchase vouchers for reimbursing airfares, hotels, and rental cars.Prepares journal entries and general ledger transactions.Performs and reviews monthly/quarterly reconciliations of accounts between General Ledger, subsidiary ledgers and Comptroller.Monitors account receivables for vendor reimbursable travel expenses.Audits employee travel vouchers and other required travel forms.Other Duties and Responsibilities:Acts as a Program Administrator for the ERS state travel cards and is responsible for establishing, updating, and closing accounts.Keeps abreast of legislative changes which effect travel and management of funds.May approve preparation of vouchers by other accounting personnel.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Minimum Qualifications: Your application for employment must reflect how you meet each of the following minimum qualifications:1. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance or business-related field. Qualifying experience beyond the minimum required may substitute for education.2. Two (2) years of full time experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related experience requiring compilation. This should include experience in preparing, entering, and processing all accounting entries.3. Three (3) years of full-time experience coordinating and overseeing domestic and international travel authorization and reimbursement.Preferred Qualificatio s: Your application for employment should reflect how you meet the following preferred qualifications:4. Experience with CAPPS/PeopleSoft Financials.5. Experience with SAP Concur Travel Expense System.6.
