Be part of a team that shares your passion and drive, and start living your purpose at Better Health Group.Position Objective:The Patient Billing Coordinator is a administrative role, and is responsible for facilitating the billing process for patients and ensuring that they receive accurate and timely invoices for medical services.. The incumbent will report to the Office Manager (or similar role) and will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure that all billing procedures are followed in accordance with regulatory guidelines.Responsibilities:Manage the billing process for patients, ensuring that all billing procedures are followed accurately and in a timely mannerVerify insurance coverage and benefits for patients and work with insurance companies to resolve any issues related to billing or coveragePrepare and submit insurance claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required documentationProcess patient payments and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely payment.Respond to patient inquires regarding billing and insurance coverage, providing explanations and assistance as needed.Maintain accurate patient billing records and ensure that all records are kept confidential and secureStay up-to-date with regulatory guidelines related to patient billing and insurance coverageGive report of all concerns and issues at the department to the Regional Manager, Director of Integration and Anion Team for prompt necessary actionAssist patients by following up health claims, as well as appealing unpaid claimsAdditional duties as assignedPosition Requirements/ Skills:Highschool degree or equivalent requiredAt least 1 year of experience working as a patient billing coordinatorPrior experience working in a clinical setting, preferredPrior experience working electronic medical record systems, preferredStrong telephonic skills to include communicating to patients, facilities, and other physician officesWorking knowledge with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaborationPhysical Requirements:Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of timeCommunicating with others to exchange informationRepeating motions that may include the wrist, hands, and/or fingersAssessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assignedMust be able to lift at least 15lbs at timesKey Attributes/ Skills:Has a contagious and positive work ethic, inspires others, and models the behaviors of core values and guiding principlesAn effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitmentsIs able to work within our Better Health environment by facing tasks and challenges with energy and passionPursues activities with focus and drive, defines work in terms of success, and can be counted on to complete goalsDemonstrated ability to handle data with confidentialityAbility to work cross-functionally with multiple teams; ability to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skills; must be comfortable communicating with senior-level leadership, providers, and health plansStrong interpersonal and presentation skillsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsMust be results-oriented with a focus on quality execution and deliveryAppreciation of cultural diversity and sensitivity toward target patient populations
