USD $21.00 - USD $22.50 /Hr.CertifiedMedication TechniciansPawtucket Falls is looking for a Certified Medication Technician to join the team. The CMT is responsible for safely administering medications and treatments as ordered under the supervision of a licensed nurse (RN or LPN). The CMT ensures proper documentation, monitors for adverse reactions, maintains medication records, assists with medication storage and inventory, and communicates effectively with interdisciplinary care teams to promote resident/patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards.Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Rhode Island (in good standing)Successful completion of a Rhode Island Department of Health-approved Medication Aide/Technician training program (minimum 45 hours)Completion of required clinical skills evaluation (three supervised medication passes by an RN)Current Medication Technician certification/registration with the Rhode Island Department of HealthAbility to pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) background checkMust be at least 18 years oldStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and accuracy in following protocolsBasic math and computer skills for dosage calculation and documentationAbility to work under supervision of licensed nursing staff and as part of a care teamPhysical ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents as neededAdminister medications (oral, topical, inhaled, eye/ear drops, etc.) as prescribed, following facility policy and scope of practiceDocument medication administration on medication administration records (MARs) or electronic systemsMonitor patients for side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition, and report findings to licensed nursing staffAssist with medication cart audits, reconciliation, inventory, and proper disposal of expired or unused medicationsStore medications safely, ensuring proper temperature, labeling, and securityAssist with self‐administration when appropriate and educate patients/residents under supervisionMaintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA/privacy standardsParticipate in ongoing competency evaluations, including quarterly reviews or as requiredAssist licensed nursing staff with medication orders, clarifications, and communication with pharmacistsAdhere to facility, state, and federal regulations (such as state medication aide laws, long‐term care standards)
