Nurse Practitioner

Provides general medical and specialized care and treatment to patients in medical facility such as clinic, health center, or public health agency, under direction of Physician. A specialty clinic advanced practice nurse is a highly specialized mid-level provider who works with other professionals to perform specialty services to patients in a particular area of expertise.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms physical examinations, may perform specialty procedures and provide follow up care of the patient. Performs preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of the physician. Explains and provides specialized education to the patient care. Provides answers to any questions a patient might have. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition. Credentialed to sedate, circulate and scrub electrophysiology procedures under the direction of the physician, as needed by specialty clinic. Discusses and collaborates care of the patient with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan. Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician. Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures. Has a high level of decision-making skills and autonomy. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, handle, finger, feel talk and hear and use near acuity and color vision.
