Schedules work for company transport drivers, maximizes truck revenue and supports the driver team while on duty. Tracks company trucks and trailers and directs drivers to drop off equipment for scheduled and/or emergency maintenance. Job Specific Details:Blarney Castle’s dispatch is centralized in Bear Lake, but we will consider candidates who are able to work in any local branch office - including Traverse City, Cheboygan, Alpena, Scottville, and Mesick. Training will take place at the Bear Lake Service Center, with a standard 8-4p schedule. Once trained, the schedule will change. Night and weekend availability is required. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma / GED requiredAssociate degree or some post-secondary education preferredAbility to multi-task is essentialKnowledge of Microsoft Excel preferredPrior experience in fuel dispatch is preferredPrior experience in logistics, scheduling, or trucking is preferredMust possess strong interpersonal skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills requiredThe ability to work with a team or individuallyESSENTIAL DUTIES:Schedule loads while utilizing and maximizing available driver hoursIdentify priorities; utilize available resources effectively to meet these priorities; anticipate change and/or problems and reallocate resources when necessaryMake safety conscious decisionsEnsure compliance with all regulations, policies and proceduresProvide feedback to management on service and safety issuesAdjust forecasted loads based on sales demand and market trendsConfidently make good decisions under time pressureMake quick decisions based on simple equations or deductive reasoningCommunicate effectively with customers and drivers providing concise instruction or information when requestedUse effective listening skills to collect required information or to identify potential problems / warning signs. Escalate information when necessaryDevelop relationships with customers and drivers; utilize relationships to influence others and gain willing cooperationOther duties as assigned
