Job Description

Preparing all alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for guestsAssessing bar customer needs and preferences and be able to make personalized recommendationsStock and maintain bar area to resort and health department standardsProvide an exceptional and memorable guest experienceParticipate in ongoing training for professional developmentServe food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests sitting at the barSet up bar and bar area according to resort standardsCut fruit and prepare garnishes as set by resort standards for serviceConsistently keep the bar area organized and cleanKnow all specialty cocktail ingredients and garnishesParticipate in updated training for the bar and menu itemsBe able to follow pouring procedures appropriately; all drink recipes must utilize a jigger for accurate measurement; no deviation from the recipes are allowed.Notify Supervisors immediately of any product shortages or out-of-stock itemsHave a working knowledge of draft beer systems and how to properly change a kegAnswer questions on menu selections and drinks to servers and guestsCommunicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recooking orders, and product availabilityRecord all transactions in MICROS system at time of order accuratelyCheck in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beveragesMaintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the dayComplete closing duties, including restocking items to set par levels, turning off lights, etc.Present physical and accurate check to guests and process paymentsEnsure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professionalWelcome and acknowledge all guests according to resort standardsAnticipate and address guests` service needsSpeak with others using a clear and professional languageDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goalsEnsure adherence to quality expectations and standardsMove, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.Thank guests with genuine appreciationPerform other reasonable job duties as requested by SupervisorsAble to assist Supervisors with inventoryNotify manager or supervisor in a timely manner with suspicious ID cards and/or intoxicated guestsProper cash handling of banksTimely transfer of checks for guests being moved to a different sectionAdhere to departmental policies and proceduresEffectively communicate with peers, management, line and front of the house employeesPractice effective listening: (seek to understand)Perform related duties as requiredBe responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general propertySubscribe to proper grooming, dress and uniform standards as set forth by Resort policyBe courteous to all guests and coworkers Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Employee HandbookMaintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes at their respective outletAdditional Duties & Responsibilities:Adhere to departmental and resort policies and proceduresPerform related duties as required or instructedBe responsible for the cleanliness of designated work area as well as the general propertyBe familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accuratelyEnergetic, enthusiastic and motivated individualMust be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English Must have strong communication skillsAbility to implement and uphold service standards Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments Ability to interact with all associates and guests of the resort Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of timeMust have knowledge of classic cocktails, wines, spirits and beersAbility to work under variable temperature conditionsExperience, Education, & Licensure:High School Diploma or GEDMust be RBS certified or become certified within 30 days of hireMust have a current Food Handlers cardPrevious bartending experience in a professional setting is preferredCompensationBase Pay Start Rate: $16.50+ Tips#Terranea
