Description Nick Corieri from Robert Half in Syracuse is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join one of our non-profit organization clients. This pivotal role will provide financial leadership and strategic direction, ensuring the organizationu2019s financial health aligns with its mission and values. The ideal candidate will have expertise in non-profit accounting, compliance, and executive leadership, along with a proven track record of managing budgets and fostering operational excellence. Responsibilities: u2022 Provide strategic oversight for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support organizational goals. u2022 Manage accounting operations, payroll processes, financial audits, and regulatory compliance specific to non-profit standards. u2022 Oversee financial systems, including accounts payable/receivable, donation processing, and donor records management. u2022 Deliver timely and accurate financial reports to the executive team and board of directors. u2022 Lead the annual budget development process, ensuring alignment with the organizationu2019s objectives. u2022 Establish and enforce internal financial controls and risk management policies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance. u2022 Direct the financial aspects of human resources, including payroll and benefits administration. u2022 Supervise vendor relationships, contracts, insurance policies, and purchasing activities to optimize organizational resources. u2022 Implement efficient systems and processes to enhance operational effectiveness and support growth. u2022 Collaborate with department leaders to monitor performance, provide budgetary guidance, and make strategic recommendations. Requirements u2022 A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably within a non-profit organization. u2022 Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices. u2022 Demonstrated expertise in managing annual operating budgets and financial reporting. u2022 Proven leadership skills with experience overseeing cross-functional teams and departments. u2022 Strong understanding of compliance requirements and risk management policies. u2022 Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to support organizational decision-making. u2022 Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. u2022 Proficiency in financial systems and tools to streamline processes and ensure accuracy.
