The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.Position SummaryUnder general direction, the Porter A will primarily be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of Columbia University apartment buildings and grounds area. Responsibilities- Specific job duties will be to clean and maintain building and grounds complex--elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms, vacant apartments and offices (occupied, or unoccupied), etc;- Trim trees and shrubs; fertilize, seed and mow lawn;- Sweep and hose sidewalks, and remove snow and spread salt as needed.- The incumbent will also perform other related duties as assigned.- Heavy lifting may be required.Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalency certification required.- Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance a plus.- Excellent communication skills necessary.- Applicant's resume and application must be up-to-date.Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Veteran Columbia University is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents.Minimum Salary: 34320.00Maximum Salary: 34320.00Salary Unit: Yearly
