JOB TITLE: Senior Technical Specialist 3 AGENCY: Construction & Development DEPT/DIV: DeliverySignals & Train Controls REPORTS TO: Vice President Program Executive WORK LOCATION: 2 Broadway HOURS OF WORK: 8 : 3 0 AM to 5: 0 0 P M or as required (7.5HR/ DAY ) HAY POINTS: 954 SALARY RANGE: $ 129,018 to $ 175,651 DEADLINE: Open Until Filled S ummary A Senior Technical Specialist 3 will demonstrate their ability to work independently and in a team , a nd manage and succeed in a fast-paced technical environment. This candidate will have a proven ability to a nalyze situations accurately and reach effe ctive decisions based on informed judgment and consultation. Responsibilities Typical job duties may include: Assists in leading a team involved in the concept, design, modification, analysis , and delivery of MTA C&D projects. A s a team lead, coordinating detailed design phases for all MTA systems and infrastructure design aspect s . Provides expertise to resolve complex technical issues. Researches and recommends solutions for complex systems integration and interface issues. Uses various software and programs to develop/review analysis and design , and plan preparation/review. Prepares, reviews , and/or approve s proposals, contracts , or cost estimates. Negotiates revisions, changes , and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants and clients. Assists the Project Management team through creative problem - solving during interactions with Agency Owners and by completing tasks to meet the project schedule. Provides technical inspection support and oversight on active construction projects. Reviews the work of peers and communicates constructive feedback. Works with the Project Management team for project reviews, change procedures, and commercial and project control updates. E ducation and Experience Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate technical discipline or an equivalent subject. Master ' s preferred. Various disciplines may include , but are not limited to , Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Computer, Communications, Electrical, Electronics, Signals, or Systems Engineering/Technology. Must have a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience . Must have a minimum of six (6) years in a managerial or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization and/or with highly complex systems. Competencies: Experience in large-scale technical issues for significant construction projects or projects with highly complex systems is preferred. Experience leading and managing designers, contractors, subcontractors, and/or vendors. PMP or relevant technical certifications are desirable. NYS Licensed Professional Engineer a plus . Demonstrated knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all internal organizational levels to drive project/program outcomes. Demonstrated ability to work in a high - profile, high - pressure environment effectively. Must have focus and ability to deliver results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement. Must be a proven leader as a change agent and creative/innovative thinker with the ability to align business goals with solutions to drive process improvements. Must possess excellent team - building, listening, problem - solving, and prioritization skills. Alternate Delivery experience preferred. Proficiency in current design and engineering software and Microsoft Office is required. An attitude and commitment to actively participating in our employee culture are necessary . Able to multitask and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines.
